ALITHSA at Founder's Day 2010
On Saturday July 24th, ALITHSA participated in the annual Algonquin Founders’ Days Parade. This year the organization was represented by over 60 players, parents and coaches as well as a monster truck courtesy of Chip Parker, our Field and Equipment Coordinator. The kids had fun handing out water bottles and candy and did a great job representing our club to the community.
Look for us later this year at the Lake in the Hills Summer Sunset Festival Parade on Saturday, September 5th!!!

ALITHSA Arsenal High School Boys Tryout Information
ALITHSA Arsenal will be holding a tryout for next season's High School Boys on Sunday, August 8th, 4:00 PM at Leroy Guy Park. We feel that by holding tryouts earlier this will give us the best chance to establish the most competitive teams at a variety of high school age levels, while also giving our players a better opportunity compete for spots on their high school team.
This is our vision for creating teams:
- Tryout to be held in August (8/8/10) and an additional tryout in early October – Date for the October tryout TBD. We STRONGLY encourage you attend the August tryout.
- Some players will be invited to accept a roster space after the August tryout.
- If a player is not offered a space after the August tryout, he will be given a tryout evaluation listing areas for development; he will also be invited back to the October tryout. The October tryout will also be open to any players who did not participate in the August tryout.
All players that are offered a place after the August tryout will not be given specific team assignments until after the October tryout. Why?
- In the past we have relied on a single tryout session to evaluate players. The additional session will allow us another opportunity to work with players who may have had a "bad" day, or who need to work on some areas for improvement. The early evaluation will also allow players to prepare to compete for spots on their high school teams.
- Our philosophy going forward is to create the most competitive HS teams possible and to provide all incoming freshman through current juniors the opportunity to tryout and make a team.
- We will move a player up in age group if his ability befits the move up.
- As a club, having two tryouts over a 2-3 month period will give ALITHSA's Director's and Coaching Staff the ability to place players accordingly and facilitate growth.
In addition to the above changes, our HS program next year will be more intensive. The program features (included in fees) for next season:
- Winter Training (Jan-Mar) – one team practice and one skills practice
- Winter Indoor League (Jan-Mar)
- Spring Training – three sessions a week inc. one skills practice
- Spring League Games (Apr-Jun)
- Tournament play – two tournaments
- Professional Head Coach - practices, games and tournaments
- Weekly Speed & Agility session throughout spring season
- Weekly Goalkeeper training session throughout spring season
- Special meeting with a Collegiate coach/advisor, Paul Webster, from Elmhurst College to educate players with steps to take on: *Contacting colleges & coaches *Scholarships *Requirements *Possible Colleges to contact… and other pertinent information for players who are looking to play soccer beyond HS
- Projected cost range: $700
- Uniforms are not included in projected cost
